Neglected -9 Year Old Maltese-Shocking! New Pix!

Dogs/cats that have been rescued and are safe from euthanization, but they still are in need of permanent homes and donations. When these dogs are placed, the wonderful rescuers/individuals can save another animal from the shelter!

This dog was dumped yesterday. Was the monster who did this arrested?? Please, someone, help this boy. It appears he has had no care for his entire 9 years.

I met Rusta this evening at the East Valley shelter. I don't think I have ever seen a dog this matted in all the years of being in the shelter. His entire body and face is frozen with mats and dirt. He is very confused and in horrible shape. This very sad Maltepoo has been severly neglected. He will be shaved tomorrow and I will take pix of him then.

Rusta needs is a home or rescue ASAP where he will get some TLC. He has clearly known little happiness in a very long time.

PLEASE CROSSPOST DEB'S WONDERFUL OFFER TO COVER THIS LITTLE GUY'S INITIAL VETTING COSTS.

Apparently, his owner has dementia and this tiny lad was brought into the shelter by the owner's niece. That's all we know.

How does anyone allow this to happen?!?!

I will cover the cost of his initial vetting(including dental, lab work, etc.) for a reputable rescue who can take this poor little guy.

Little Dog

I spoke to Valerie at the east valley shelter and she said that this dog is being held as evidence and is not available for adoption until October 23rd. She has already gotten tons of calls about this dog. He will need to stay in the shelter for a month.

Rusta now named Sam was shaved down, got a nice bath and is resting comfortably in ISO. He is being held as evidence for the neglect he has suffered.

Here are before and after pix of him...not great ones because he was still sedated when these were taken. I will send new ones tomorrow.
