My dear Anna, I won't be eating anything except pizza and chocolate, so there! At the time I wrote those words, nobody apart from Charlotte Fails, who sent out the original plea I believe, seemed to be aware of Jim. I had never even seen that plea and if A&H didn't get it, you know it's gotten buried or forgotten because trust me, A&H gets thousands of email every day. I just happened to be looking at the small dogs on East Valley website when I saw Jim's face and thought - hmm I normally love scruffy terriers but the photo of this dog is definitely not flattering and he looks a bit ugly. I am sure he isn't - Charlotte says he is actually very cute! I called the shelter and they told me he was rescue only. Then when I decided to get on the case, Paula and Linda were good enough to send out multiple emails on him making everyone doubly aware! So thank you ladies cos it's very much down to your emails that awareness was raised. And then mostly down to Anna being able to find a great foster home and Chela Landau pulling him for AHAW.

So the latest is that I will be picking Jim up from the vet tomorrow if his neutering is done in time. I will then be taking him to an approved foster home (tis Lisa, the lady who fostered Anna's Gracie). When he is ready, Molly's Mutts & Meows have kindly agreed that we can show him at their adoptions. So, when he's settled in (please please god make it easy on Lisa), photos will be forthcoming and I bet he'll look really cute.

PS - We have all agreed that his name has to be changed!

Kim and I picked up "Jim" today - final name yet to be determined. We had bough a leash/harness/collar for the vet tech to put on him. But the vet tech had the vet leash on and said he couldn't get the collar/harness on him. Of course, he froze and wouldn't move when we tried to walk him to the car. So we put him in the crate and I sat in the back with him.

In the car, I opened the crate, and he slowly came out and sat in my lap. And kept petting him and talking to him and he was oh so very sweet.

He was a bit bigger than I expected although Kim thought he was smaller than SHE expected. He's lovely - has one blue eye and one brown eye (but I'm the only one who wants to name him Bowie - go figure.)

Lisa's house is absolutely wonderful and her dogs are perfect and adorable.

Kim and I hung out with Jim and Lisa for a while. And I finally got brave enough to try putting his collar and ID tags on. I gave him little treats and it was NO PROBLEM AT ALL. In fact I had to keep taking his collar on and off to size it.

In terms of walking, we tried him on the leash with some treats . . .and again, although a bit reluctantly, he walked. Thankfully he is food motivated, so I think he'll be fine.

Lisa, the little guy's foster mom just sent us these pics from her phone. BTW, looks like his name is Tawfee (as not to be confused by the Toffee we rescued last year!) . . . maybe. Anyway, he is responding to that name and Lisa has walked him around on his leash. He's a bit people shy, but who wouldn't be after being in isolation for two months?

Kim will try to get some pics later this week.

hmm . . .what's everyone doing up there?
