One little chi, Penny - died during spay

In memory of the ones we were unable to help; the ones that had such little joy, love and happiness in their lives.

This is our promise that you were loved by all of us and will be remembered.

We will see you at Rainbow Bridge.

from Julie:

Just got off the phone with javier. Penny died in surgery to spay her. omg! a vet who comes to the shelter, came to spay and neuter some dogs at the shelter, and penny died in surgery. she had a nernia and possible mammary tumors. she should have not been spayed at this time, but rather assessed by vet and had a blood panel done. this is heartbreaking!!!!!!!!!! she was only 4 yrs old. : (

Kinikie is now at west la and is neutered.....

sorry i forgot to say that penny's surgery needed to be deferred, i'm so outraged right now for them to do surgery on a dog in critical condition. this is horrible. someone really screwed up big time!!!!!!! this dog should not have died!

I pulled three cats from East Valley last Friday. One cat was deferred because she has a slight eye infection. The two kittens went to Clinico which is next door to the shelter. One of the kittens died during her spay. I am so upset. I have pulled dozens of dogs and cats in the past two years and this never happened to me before. She went into cardiac arrest. A two month old kitten??? I will ask to have all future pulls sent to Community despite the distance. UGH! Anyone else have a bad experience at Clinico?
