WON'T YOU BE HER PIED PIPER?
Our SLA officer received a call one evening -- dog shot in the chest. He hurried out to investigate -- and found this happy-go-lucky girl with her wagging tail and ear-to-ear smile, happy to see him!! Piper (A0987781, 3 years, 56 pounds, booked in as a "possible owner") greeted him like she would an old friend -- jumping right into his truck -- as if hoping he would save her from a life on the streets. She followed him into the shelter, walked right into her kennel without hesitation, and grinned a grin that would win anyone's heart. Fast forward -- Officer asks us to network her. Who could refuse this very special girl? We had one of our expert ACT's handle her and he was utterly impressed as well, thinking that she would make a great therapy dog, that's how quick she is to respond, how gentle she is.
Piper's wounds are old, possibly not from a bullet -- she does have some other old wounds as well -- obviously had a hard life already and needs a change of scenery. We have had her around other dogs -- no reaction except a wag of her tail. Piper has an early impound number, was probably adopted as a puppy, perhaps passed from one person to another, and now sits in the shelter unclaimed. This girl needs her Pied Piper -- and now! Her time is up. Come meet her at the South L.A. shelter 3612 11th Ave. L.A. 90018 (213) 485-0117 or -0119. And please let us know that she is safe -- our Officer would be so grateful!!!!!
