Remy dies in less than 24 hours!!!!

He had diarrhea and URI, but was put on meds and is now over those problems.

Remy has lacerations on him that seem to be healing. He has been in ISO, so they do not know how he is with other dogs.

A shelter staff is going to walk him by some other dogs to see how he reacts. We will call her back in 30 minutes for an answer on his behavior.

Can somebody PLEASE take him???

If he is aggressive towards other dogs, I can not take him. I don't even really want to take on any other animal at this time, but I can't let him die! He has been at the shelter for 2 months!!!

Please, please, please cross post and help this sweetie!!! I will up my donation to $50 for him! I know it is not much, but he really needs out.

If we didn't call the shelter, he would have been killed today. They are willing to hold onto him for 24 more hours, but if not rescued... he dies tomorrow!!

This little guy is only 7 months old! From what it seems, he has had a very hard past. Don't allow him to be killed!

Hello,

First off, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Remy and I am a 7 month old, male Staffie.

I am writing to you from the isolation room in the South LA shelter. I have been here for 2 months, just sitting in this cage. I had diarrhea and URI, but was put on medication and am now over both those illnesses. I have lacerations on my skin, but they seem to be healing nicely. That being said, you know my former family did not love me, or appreciate my existence the least bit.

Today, I was going to "forever go to sleep".-- If you know what I mean. An angel called the shelter today on my behalf and is supposedly working to set me free!

The shelter staff is giving me 24 more hours to live. But is it enough time?

I have a rescue who is considering saving me, but I am still sitting here in this cold metal cage. Will they really come for me? Or will they forget about me, just like everybody else in this world has?

Earlier today, I was taken out of my cage.... I thought it was my time to leave this cruel world. To my surprise, I was taken for a walk, and got to see other dogs! I couldn't really enjoy myself, because I was so confused as to why I was on the nice cool grass... and not sitting in my cage anymore.

After a short walk along side the other kennels, I was put back in my cage, and realized I was spared... for now at least.

So here I sit, waiting and watching as people pass by my cage, but don't stop to say "hello" or take me home.

I know something is up, as today is the first time I was given attention... or taken on a walk.

Am I going to be killed? Or am I going to be rescued?

I over heard somebody mention the words "LEASH Animal Rescue". I think they are the ones who are interested in helping me.

Please contact them at leashanimalrescue@yahoo.com or (562)806-1935 if you can help! I need a foster home and/or a fur-ever home. I am not a bad dog, I have just been over looked all my life, neglected, and forgotten.

I am also in need of donations for my care! Please send all donations to leashanimalrescue@yahoo.com through www.paypal.com if you can spare even $5.

I do not want to die like this; alone, afraid, and un-loved. Please help give my life a happy ending.

Thank you for reading my plea. The clock is ticking, please help my rescuers get me out before it's too late!

~Remy~

Ah, great. Why didn't they tell us this BEFORE we did the paperwork? :x

Remy was going to be neutered today and picked up tomorrow, but they are not going to neuter him due to a skin condition! We asked when we called to put an IP on him, is he healthy? Does he have any problems? The answer we received was no. They did tell us about his prior problems (URI and diarrhea), and that he had lacerations which were healing.

Now today, he has possible mange.

Remy is still not being picked up from the shelter until tomorrow.
Just thought it was nice of them not to let us know before we did the paperwork...

Remy is SAFE! :)

I think the shelter is crazy...

Remy does NOT have a skin condition. He has one laceration on his face... which leads to a very confusing story. But yet, they deferred his neuter surgery.... UGH!

My vet did a skin scraping and a few parasite tests (mites, etc.). All that came up negative and there are no visible signs of any skin problem.

Let's start from the beginning:

12/19/07- Remy was impounded at the SLA shelter and appeared healthy.
12/20/07- Remy had bloody diarrhea, but tested negative for Parvo.
12/27/07- Remy was adopted!

3/22/08- Remy was impounded at the shelter... again. Condition: "normal".

4/25/08- Remy has a small wound on his right cheek. The wound was cleaned and dressed, etc.
4/26/08- Remy had surgery on his wound. He has 2 stiches on his cheek, was put on antibiotics, etc.
4/30/08- Remy's incision was healing well. Electonic device was found in his stool. :?:

5/7/08- We rescued Remy! :D

Soooo, the wound/laceration on his face happened AT THE SHELTER. But yet, they said he was in ISO the whole time he was there (the second time he was impounded). That being said.... I do not think it was a bite from another dog, which makes me really wonder what happened. :?

What the shelter told us, and what I read on his paperwork is TOTALLY different.

Anyways, Remy is VERY happy to be out and has a lot of energy! He doesn't seem to have a problem with cats. He was in the "play" mode when we met ours. I didn't let him get too close though.

Our vet had a hard time examining Remy because he was sooo hyper and just wanted to lick everybody's face! The stitches on his face are going to be removed either today or tomorrow.

Remy is now in boarding and will go into a foster home early next week!

Is this what it is like to be free? *Adopt-A-Bull*

Woof! Woof! My name is Remy and I am a 40 pound, 7 month old, male, Staffie.

I was impounded at the South LA Shelter December 19th, 2007. Eight days later, I was adopted! But wait, there's more. March 22nd, 2008 I was dumped back at the South LA Shelter by the family who I thought loved me. A little over a month of sitting at the shelter, waiting for a miracle, I got a laceration on my face. I was in a kennel alone in the isolation room, so the wound was not caused by another dog. Regardless, I had to get two stitches on my right cheek to help my wound heal properly. My rescuers were not told by the shelter how I got such a bad wound on my face, and the accident still remains a mystery.

On May 7th, 2008 I was saved from certain death and am now living in a foster home until my fur-ever home can be found!

I am full of energy and LOVE to play with my tennis ball! I am a bit strong on the leash, but do you blame me?-- I have been locked up in a cage for soo long. I just want to run and play!

I haven't gotten the chance to play with another dog yet, but when I passed by them in the shelter, I did not show any aggression at all! I also seem to be good with cats! Again, I did not show any aggression. I was just so happy to be free and wanted to play!

I love to learn new tricks! While waiting at the vet's office, I learned how to "sit" on command. It was super easy and I got a yummy treat for being so good!!!

I am a love-a-bull guy who is looking for a family who will love me for who I am! I have been through so much, and just want to go home!

Please contact LEASH Animal Rescue if you are interested in giving me the happy life I have been waiting for!

Remy is:
*already neutered
*housetrained
*good with kids
*good with dogs
*good with cats
*up to date with shots

Please contact us at leashanimalrescue@yahoo.com or (562) 806-1935 if you are interested in Remy!

Remy is back in boarding. His foster home didn't work out because he has so much energy, and seems to have separation anxiety.

The foster home does not have a big backyard, so she took Remy to the dog park where he played, and ran around with another Staffie for quite a while. Then they went on a long jog. When they got home, Remy still had as much energy as he did before they left!

His foster mom slept on the couch with him last night, but he NEVER stayed still. She said he would move every few minutes, and neither of them got any sleep. If she left Remy allow in his kennel (only at night) or in a room by himself, he would bark non-stop.

She also said that Remy followed her EVERYWHERE she went. Remy is good about open doors though; he does not dart out the door, but stays by your side and comes when you call him.

Remy needs a foster home with another playful dog his size and a good sized backyard where he can run and play all day long! He has soooo much energy but is SUCH a good boy.

Remy is great with other dogs, as well as cats (his foster home had both).

Remy tagged along to meet Max's interested party yesterday. He had such a fun time, and is such a good boy!

Although, I wasn't able to spend as much time as I would have liked with him yesterday.-- One of my friends came with us to handle Remy, as I knew Max would be a handful.

Remy is such a fun little dog, and loves to please! Right now, he is still in boarding, but he really wants his fur-ever family so he can run around and play! The vet's staff loves having Remy around. They enjoy training him, and say he is very smart!

Cat, dog, and kid friendly.... I am surprised nobody has inquired about him yet! :?

Remy is one of the SWEETEST dogs I have rescued. Yet, he is still looking for his home!
I am shocked that nobody has really inquired about him.-- I had one lady who seemed really interested in him, but she never emailed me back. :?
