Sorry - just saw this.

I got a call at 8:30 am from Lisa. She was going to the vet and on the way stopped at the Coffee Bean on Cold Water and Ventura. As she was getting back INTO the car - Toffee jumped over her and out and just ran. She couldn't catch him.

I never ever think a dog should be left unattended in a car period, but accidents happen, and Lisa just fell so terribly guilty and jumped into action.

Within half an hour, email blasts had gone out and flyers were starting to be put up.

If anyone knows that area, you'll understand how confusing it was. He couldn't have headed into the canyons, gone toward North Hollywood or Encino

Anyway - basically we were looking and putting up flyers for four hours, and Lisa found him at the wash. He was so scared and came crawling to her. I imagine he was like why the hell did I do that!

So alls well that ends well!

Lisa, Toffee's foster mom and I took him to the Molly's adoption on Saturday. We weren't sure how he was going to react with the people, the other dogs, the kids. And he was absolutely PERFECT.

he's adorable! have long wondered what's up with his eyes tho, are they different colors?

yep - he has one blue eye and one brown eye. I wanted to call him Bowie, but was shut down.

I believe a wonderful home was found for Toffee. They have passed the home check, the 'wow they are great people' check. We are just waiting for their gate to be put up and then he will be on his way!

I am so pleased to say that Shy Jim/Toffee and now ZIGGY was adopted by a wonderful family.

They live in Mar Vista in a lovely house and and a lovely couple with a 13 yr old son. Ziggy was at first shy with man of the house, but three days later - and they are as tight as thieves! His sleeping place is on their bed, sometimes in between them, but usually at the foot of their bed. Ziggy hasn't actually met his 'brother' yet, but they have 'spoken' on the phone and I think they are smitten!

I don't think a more suitable home could have been found for him. He's an exceptional dog and we needed an exception family for him. They passed quite a few people to be approved!

I don't know what drew Kim to him, but lucky for Ziggy she was. This shy, reserved dog went from being in ISO because the shelter couldn't get a leash on him, to a wonderful foster, Lisa, who made him feel loved and secured . . .to an amazing home where he has a family that absolutely dotes on him.
