ADOPTED- NOW CALLED "MISHA"- Amazing Russian Blue

A forum for our personal animals that have gone to Rainbow Bridge. Our time with them was far too short, and they were very much loved.

One day we will meet again.

can you squirt water into his mouth using a 10ml aspirating syringe? I had to give Snooper liquid antibiotics for 2 weeks after her dental procedure and used this method, she tolerated it fine.

Paula, what I have been doing is adding water to his canned food. However, I had thought about the method you describe and I can pretty much do anything with Misha - he's great at taking pills etc. Okay, so here is the embarrassing dumb part - how do I stop the water coming out of the syringe in the bottom once I have taken the rubber stopper off of the end? I tried it last night and whilst I was fumbling to get the stopper off the end of the syringe and into Misha's mouth, I lost all the water.

I think you are using something different than I have. Mine is like a needle syringe without the needle, a tube with a plunger the same length as the tube, you push the plunger into the tube, put the tube into the water, then draw the plunger up, suctioning up the water. No water ever drips out. If you want I can send you some, no charge of course, pm me if you want

LOL. I have been doing it wrong. I just followed your "method" and realized I'd been doing it all ass backwards. Thanks Paula!

Sense definitely isn't common. Oh the shame!

Forgot about these ones. He is just so angelic and adorable when he sleeps that one day I snapped a few shots.

Sadly, this week Misha was diagnosed with liver cancer. Vet says he has around 6 months, maybe a bit more. We can only hope.

Sorry Linda, have been real busy and not checked in here. We were told by the shelter that Misha was 8 years old at the time of adoption, but quite frankly I am not sure they had any idea about his age. So, we'll say 12.

Unfortunately, Misha took very ill last week and didn't eat or drink for a few days. My vet said that it wasn't too surprising and sometimes that's just the way it goes rather than gradually over time. I had called the vet to come out and euthanize him on Saturday. However, my boy perked up a bit and started drinking lots of water and he is now eating a little bit of food each day and getting up and walking around. I don't fool myself that he's recovering but I think we've been given a little bit of a reprieve and maybe I can have some extra time with him. He refuses to eat cat food so he's on a salmon, tuna and whatever else diet. He is very close to my new dog Walter Ignatius TD Nibby - they immediately bonded over begging for human food in the kitchen. They often eat from the same dish and curl up together on the dog bed. I took this photo on Saturday of Misha and Walter enjoing some time in the sun together.

Little Misha went to Rainbow Bridge on Friday May 13th. He fully lived his nine lives to the fullest - despite his snaggle tooth, his chopped off tail, the two bullets in him - He was an absolute champ and I know Kim misses him immensely. RIP Misha cat - I hope you're enjoying Rainbow Bridge.
