Pet Loss Resources

Although it’s difficult, you should spend some time trying to determine what you want to do for your dog in his/her last moments.  I knew that in a best case situation, that I wanted a vet to come to my home, so that my dog would be in the place they knew best with the people who loved them and they loved.

I wasn’t really prepared when the time came, but I was fortunate that very sympathetic and loving people were referred to me.

Dr. Karen Kelly was so caring. She sat on the floor with us and explained the procedure carefully.  She didn’t pressure me and gave my friends and family as much time as we needed with Ashley.

When Hobie passed away, the VCA in West L.A. recommended Richard at Royal Pet Mortuary. Since I’ve heard some horror stories about what happens to a pets remains, I made some calls and Richard received high praise from everyone.

He was very understanding and I went back and forth with him a few times because as Ashley’s health deteriorated, it was important to me that Ashley and Hobie were cremated together if possible.

They were cremated together and Richard brought me back the ashes in a lovely silk box, along with two paw prints each of Ashley and Hobie.

I’ll never forget their kindness and how they made a difficult time in my life easier.
